Civil Engineer (EI or PE Preferred)

Location: Bend, Oregon
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to contribute to a variety of engaging projects in both the public and private sectors. This is an exceptional opportunity to grow your career and work on diverse assignments, seeing projects through from initial concept to final construction. You will be a key part of a collaborative team, tackling new challenges and expanding your technical skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and prepare planning and engineering plans for site development and road improvement projects including grading, drainage, water and sewer systems, and traffic control plans.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed site layouts, alignments, profiles, cross-sections, surface modeling, and accurate and presentable plan sets.
  • Collaborate with surveyors, planners, and clients to develop innovative and efficient design solutions.
  • Assist with the preparation of technical reports, drainage analyses and calculations, cost estimates, and permit applications.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to ensure projects are built according to design specifications (field inspection experience is a plus).

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering with an EI certification, PE certification preferred.
  • High proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software is essential.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and HydroCAD.
  • A valid Oregon Driver’s License.
  • An enthusiastic, self-motivated attitude with a strong desire to learn and solve problems as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.

Land Surveyor (PLS)

Hickman, Williams & Associates (HWA) is currently seeking a Land Surveyor to join our team in Bend, Oregon for a permanent full-time position. HWA is a civil engineering, surveying, and land use planning firm established in Bend for 37 years, specializing in private land development and public works projects. We offer a competitive salary, medical/dental insurance, paid vacation & holidays, flexible work hours and a 401k program with employer matching.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will have the ability and technical skills to work both in the office completing surveying tasks and performing field operations when necessary. We are seeking a Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Oregon or someone actively pursuing their license. Typical responsibilities will include preparing partition and subdivision plats, boundary surveys, ALTA Surveys, topographical mapping, preparing legal descriptions, and construction surveying. Candidate needs to be knowledgeable in all phases of land surveying and map preparation, including principles of boundary control, land surveying techniques, deed and survey research, and have good written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate will also be proficient with Autodesk Civil 3D and have a good understanding of GPS and conventional survey data collection and processing.

Experience and Qualifications:

• 5 years minimum experience in land surveying

• Professional Land Surveyor licensed in Oregon preferred

• Knowledgeable in both field and office survey workflows

• Proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3d

• Proficiency using Trimble Business Center and Trimble Access

Compensation for this position ranges between $80k to $110k annually, depending on experience.
